Straight answers to the questions this game actually generates. Everything here is checked against the Steam store page, the official announcement feed, the published achievement list and the Steam discussion board on 24 October 2026.

How much does The Hollow cost?

$7.50. That is the full price and it is not discounted at the time of writing. It has been discounted three times in official announcements — 35% in the June summer sale, 57% during the August Ukraine Games Festival, and again in the October Steam sale.

Which platforms is it on?

Windows only. The store page lists Windows 11 for both minimum and recommended, and marks macOS and Linux as unsupported. VR is also listed as none.

Can I play it with friends?

No. The store page lists Single-player and nothing else — no co-op, no multiplayer, no online modes. The only social feature listed is Family Sharing.

What languages does it support?

Ukrainian and English. Ukrainian has full voice acting; English is the other listed language. No other interface languages appear in the store listing.

Does it work with a controller?

Official The Hollow store artwork from the weapons section

Yes, fully. "Full controller support" is a listed store feature, and gamepad support plus separate gamepad sensitivity arrived in the 9 June 2026 update.

How many achievements are there?

Five: SUPRESSOR, THE CEASEFIRE IS OVER!, SCIENCIST, THE KING OF THE FOREST and LIBERATOR. Each one corresponds to a place or a story beat, and the completion rates run from 13.5% down to 8.3%. The achievements page has the full list with official descriptions.

Are there codes I can redeem?

No. The Hollow has no code redemption system, no in-game shop and no currency. Any page offering "The Hollow codes" is describing a different product — the name is common enough that this happens.

Is it a horror game?

It is a first-person shooter with horror material inside it. The store page describes nightmares that a local people only knew from legends, entities that appear in the flesh, fog and thunderstorms, and nights where you sit by a fire or approach strangers to check whether they are still human. The shooting is the frame; the dread is the setting.

Will my laptop run it?

Probably, if it is a 64-bit Windows 11 machine. The minimum graphics card is Intel Iris XE or Radeon Vega 7 — integrated graphics — with 8 GB of RAM and 13 GB of disk. Recommended is an RTX 2050-class card and 12 GB. FSR, added in June 2026, is the setting to enable on weaker hardware. Full table on the system requirements page.

What do I do when no quest marker appears?

Save, quit to desktop, relaunch. That is the fix the player who reported it used, and the studio's reply in the same thread was that reloading clears this class of bug. If the weapon wheel on Q has also stopped responding, a reload fixes both. The full routine is on the quest progression page.

Is the game still being updated?

Yes, but it is in maintenance. Twenty announcements between 24 May and 2 October 2026, most of them small: NPC voice fixes, occlusion culling, a door at Sverdlovo, sunflowers. The three that changed how the game plays were controller support and sensitivity (9 June), the Contrast option (3 June) and FSR (15 June). Full list on the updates page.
